Willemstad is split by the Sint Anna Bay, and that split shapes every trip in the city. Punda sits on one side with the Handelskade waterfront and the shopping streets; Otrobanda on the other with the Rif Fort and the cruise terminal. What people ask about getting around Willemstad
No. Uber and Lyft do not operate anywhere in Curaçao. Getting around currently means licensed taxis priced by fixed zone, hotel shuttles, the Konvoi bus or a rental car. Drift launches for riders on December 1, 2026.
It is about a 15-minute drive south. From December 1, 2026 you will be able to book it in the Drift app with the fare shown in Antillean guilders before you confirm, rather than agreeing a zone rate at the rank.
On foot, yes — or the free ferry when the pontoon bridge is swung open for shipping. By car the route is around the bay via the Queen Juliana bridge, which is why a booked ride is often quicker than it looks on a map.
