How to Delete Your Account
If you wish to delete your Drift account, you can do so directly within the app. Follow the steps below based on whether you're using Drift as a rider or driver.
Open the Drift App
Launch the Drift app on your mobile device and sign in to your account.
Go to Settings
For Riders: Tap the menu icon and select "Settings".
For Drivers: Tap the menu icon, then select "Settings" from the menu.
Find Account Section
Scroll down to the "Account" section in the Settings menu.
Tap "Delete Account"
Select the "Delete Account" option. You will be asked to confirm your decision twice to prevent accidental deletion.
Confirm Deletion
After confirming, your account will be immediately deactivated and you will be signed out.
What Data is Deleted vs. Retained
When you delete your account, we handle your data as follows:

| Payment Methods | Removed from your account | Deleted |
| Trip History | Retained for 7 years for legal/tax compliance | Retained |
| Transaction Records | Retained for 7 years for financial/legal compliance | Retained |
| Driver Documents | Retained for 3 years for regulatory compliance | Retained |
Certain data must be retained to comply with Cayman Islands financial regulations, tax requirements, and to resolve any potential disputes. This data is securely stored and not used for any other purpose.
Request Data Deletion Without Deleting Account
If you would like to request deletion of specific data while keeping your account active, you can contact us directly. We can delete:
- Profile photo
- Saved addresses
- Saved payment methods
- Notification preferences
Note: Some data (like trip history and transaction records) cannot be deleted while maintaining an active account due to our operational and legal requirements.
Automatic Data Deletion
Drift automatically deletes certain data over time:
- Location data: Trip location data is anonymized after 90 days
- Chat messages: In-app messages are deleted 30 days after trip completion
- Search history: Automatically cleared after 30 days
